My name’s Jessie Kavana. At some point people started calling me JKav and it stuck.

I’m an artist and designer specializing in the sports and entertainment space. I spent 10 seasons with the Brooklyn Nets in lead designer & art director roles, with prior stints at ESPN, the Phoenix Suns, and in college athletics before starting JKav Studio, my one-woman creative operation. Highlights of my career also include creative collaborations with globally recognized sports teams, leading brands and agencies, and notable athletes and personalities.

I approach design like an artist – my work is defined by a handmade, custom touch that results in bespoke solutions. I’m detail-obsessed, and consumed by the joy of bringing ideas to life by hand.

Growing up outside of NYC, I’ve long been drawn to the energy of the city and its art, colors, lights, and textures. As a lifelong hooper and creator, basketball culture and street art are where I draw much of my inspiration.

Outside of art & design, some other things that make me happy include: a stroll along any body of water, listening to The Weeknd, a burger with special sauce and a crispy Diet Coke, my nephew’s laugh, and endlessly decorating my apartment.
